Every sports lover dreams of going to a school with coveted success in football and basketball. These schools have had the most recent success and are set up to continue that success in the future.
Honorable Mentions: Auburn, Penn State, Baylor, Virginia
5. Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI)
The Wolverines just barely sneak onto the top 5, coming off of a 9-4 season. The fan base in Michigan is far superior compared to the team’s record each disappointing season under Harbaugh. The fans at The Big House and Crisler Center will always show up, it’s just a matter of if the team will.
Active Alumni: Tom Brady, Tim Hardaway Jr.
4. Wisconsin (Madison, WI)
It seems like the Badgers win the non-Ohio State side of the Big Ten every season. This gives fans in Madison hope for a College Football Playoff appearance in the near future. The Kohl Center has been rocking since the days of Bo Ryan and hit its peak during the final four run lead by Frank the Tank.
Active Alumni: Russell Wilson, Frank Kaminsky
3. Oregon (Eugene, OR)
The Ducks have quietly built an athletic power house out on the west coast. Having the Nike headquarters practically on campus helps with the look. The look good, feel good, play good mantra defines Oregon’s success in the Pac 12. Coming off a Rose Bowl victory and a Top 15 finish in basketball, this team finds their spot at #3.
Active Alumni: Marcus Mariota, Dillon Brooks
2. Florida (Gainesville, FL)
The University of Florida has found a way to continually disappoint since that magical year of 2007, but they’re still high on the list. Many people would have picked Florida as a sleeper team for the tournament after being a top 5 team in preseason. Quarterback Kyle Trask gives the team hope for the upcoming season that they can finally dethrone Georgia for the SEC East crown.
Active Alumni: Joe Haden, Bradley Beal
1. Ohio State (Columbus, OH)
While there may be an argument for spots 2-5 and beyond there is no argument for #1. The Buckeyes were a Justin Fields INT in the endzone away for the championship game. On the hardcourt, the Wesson brothers were leading this team to a 4-5 seed in the NCAAs. The success that Buckeye fans have been accustomed to has no reason not to continue into the 2020s.
Active Alumni: Ezekiel Elliott, D’Angelo Russell
